Cookie Policy

What cookies we use, why we use them, and how you can control them

The short version

We only use the cookies we need to run the site and keep your account secure. We would also like to use Google Analytics to see how people use our site, but those cookies are only ever set if you say yes. You can change your mind at any time.

Effective date: October 2026

1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website saves on your computer, phone or tablet when you visit. They let the site remember things, such as whether you are logged in. Similar technologies, like your browser's local storage, work in the same way and are covered by this policy too.

2. Who we are

This website is run by T in the Bark Woodland Adventure Dog Park, West Turna Lief, Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, AB42 0PD. This policy explains how we use cookies under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) and UK GDPR. For how we handle your personal information more generally, please read our Privacy Policy.

3. Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the website to work properly, for example to log you in, keep your account secure and remember your cookie choice. The law allows us to use them without asking first, and they cannot be switched off. They are not used for marketing or to track you on other websites.

4. Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

With your permission, we use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google, to understand how visitors find and use our website: for example, which pages are most popular and how long people stay. This helps us improve the site. The information is collected in a way that does not directly identify you, and we do not use it for advertising.

These cookies are only set if you click “Accept analytics” on our cookie banner. If you reject them, or ignore the banner, Google Analytics is not loaded at all. Google may process this data outside the UK; it does so under appropriate safeguards. You can read more in how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

5. Payments

When you pay for a booking, you are taken to a secure checkout page run by our payment provider, Stripe, on Stripe's own website. Stripe uses its own cookies there, mainly to prevent fraud and keep payments secure. These are controlled by Stripe, not by us; see Stripe's Cookie Policy.

6. How to change your choice

You can change or withdraw your consent to analytics cookies at any time. Click the button below (or “Cookie settings” at the bottom of any page) to bring the cookie banner back. If you withdraw consent, we stop Google Analytics and remove its cookies.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Most browsers explain how in their Help section. Please note that if you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to log in or book a session.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the cookies we use change. Any changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date. If we add new non-essential cookies, we will ask for your consent again.

8. Contact us

If you have any questions about our use of cookies, email us at [email protected] or write to T in the Bark, West Turna Lief, Cruden Bay, Aberdeenshire, AB42 0PD. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
